Building self-esteem in children starts from the day that they are born and both parents and teachers play a huge role in this. Realising the importance of the same, Ashiana Public School, Sector 46-A, organized a workshop today in the school premises for the students of classes VIII-X on ways to build self-esteem in the children and exploring areas of their interest . The workshop was conducted by Mr. Ankur Malhotra, Director , Triniti –Center for Learning . The session was presided over by Colonel Upinder Singh , a renowned ,motivational speaker. The session addressed key topics, including the impact of society, professional and social media on appearance ideals, how to face challenges in life with courage and determination thus paving way for the children to open up to various strategies to boost confidence and self esteem of the students.
The speakers created an impact in the minds of the young students through various audio-visual stimulus viz. class discussions, small-group activities, engaging videos and activity worksheets etc. The workshop covered the areas which the children may explore with respect to their future choice of subject also.
The main motive behind the session was to bring a positive change in the personality of the students thereby paving way for higher self-esteem and hence making them feel more confident and forthcoming. Additionally, the session aimed to build positive self esteem which is important when learning to deal with stronger emotions and building positive relationships. Not only this, the session gave an insight into various opportunities which the children . It has been our constant endeavour at Ashiana to create platform for the students so as to ensure holistic development of each child.
