Aadi Jain and Sana Pathak, students of Ashiana Public School, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh participated in the 55th National Roller Skating Championship organized by Roller Skating Federation of India. The event was held at Kurukshetra from 18th January 2018 to 23rd January 2018. Aadi and Sana played in Under Sub Junior Category inline Hockey. Aadi Jain won by 5-0 Finals against Telangana. Aadi brought laurels to the school by winning a Gold Medal. Sana Pathak clinched a silver medal and her efforts were highly appreciated by one and all.
Jaspinder Singh Bhatt of our school participated in the 7th Winter Cup Open National Taekwondo Championship held at Tyagraj Indoor Stadium, INA, New Delhi and clinched a Bronze Medal for his commendable performance.
Football Team of Ashiana Public School, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh participated in the Under 13 team for St. Kabir Football Trophy -2017 held at St. Kabir School, Sec- 26, Chandigarh and brought laurels to the school by bagging a trophy for Second Runner Up. Our school team played against St. Kabir School and had a clean victory by 2-0.
Navishtha Ball of class III participated in the Independence Day Programme organized by Navjeevan Welfare Foundation and won a Gold Medal for her exemplary performance during the Poetry Recitation on the theme:Patriotism.
Taewondo has been a regular feature at Ashiana for the past many years and with great pride, we announce that three students of our school participated in the 11th World Taekwondo Culture Expo and Championship 2017 held at Teakwondowon, Muju, South Korea. This International Taekwondo event was held from 13th July to 20th July 2017 in which 25 members from Chandigarh represented India. These members, who already are black belt holders from South Korea, were trained by Masters of Negi Taekwondo Tigers Academy (NTTA). The children were appreciated and applauded for their exemplary performance at the event making it a mark for the others to behold. The event consisted of two-fold level Poomsae and Fight Kyorugi It is proudly announced that Sabreen Kaur and Daman Kaur of Ashiana Public School were awarded with one Gold and one Bronze Medal each and Ishmeet Saini was awarded with one Silver and one Bronze Medal. The School Director and the Principal appreciated the team spirit and efforts put forth by the students in bringing laurels to the country as well as to the school. On the occasion the efforts put forth by the entire team of NTTA and the trainer Mr. Satyapal Negi were highly appreciated as well.
Five students from our school participated in Open International Taekwondo Championship 2017 held at Golbagh, Amritsar and brought laurels to the school. Hartaj Singh and Sabreen Kaur won two Gold Medals,Damanpreet Kaur won one Gold Medal, Ishmeet Saini won one Gold Medal and one Bronze Medal and Anshpreet Singh won one Bronze medal.
To mark the importance of World No Tobacco Day, Sahayta Charitable Welfare Society organized Inter School Declamation contest on the theme Harmful effects of Tobacco. Children from seventy five schools participated in the event. Abhishek Thakur represented Ashiana Public School in the event and brought laurels to the school by winning second position. His speech and efforts were appreciated by one and all present at the occasion.
The school held the Investiture Ceremony for the academic session 2017-18 on 15th May 2017 with great enthusiasm. The deserving young talents of the school were bestowed with the responsibility of leading their school from the front with commitment, confidence and competence.
It was a solemn occasion where the students were prepared to don the mantle of leadership and discharge the responsibilities entrusted upon them by the school.
The Director and the Principal congratulated the newly appointed Student Council and encouraged them to put forth their best foot forward and shoulder each task assigned to them with utmost sincerity, dedication and honesty.
The event ended on note of positivity and willingness, with the Council promising to do their best in every way they can. They were infused with great energy and confidence to encounter the challenges that would come their way. The ceremony concluded with lot of hopes & aspirations for our future leaders .The participation of all our students and teachers made the event a great success.
The teachers participated in 'Classedge Classroom Championship' organized by Tata Edge regarding the effective usage of Interactive board to make teaching learning process interesting and bring innovation in imparting education . The teachers participated with great zeal. With immense pleasure it is announced that Ms. Manisha Sharma has been qualified for Zonals and Ms. Gurmanpreet and Ms. Suman Rana stood second and third respectively.
Ekampreet Kaur of Class II bagged third position in the Knack Show held at Gem Public School. She participated in a theme based drawing competition where the theme – Climate Change was provided to the children on the spot. Ekam performed fairly well displaying her talent.
Three students from our school represented the country in the 2016 World Taekwondo Hanmadang International Championship held at Seoul ,South Korea and brought laurels. Sixty countries across the world with over 5000 students participants performed in the events.
In the first event i.e High Kick Breaking, Palak Sharma gave a record breaking performance and won a bronze medal . She also bagged a consolation prize in the Pair Poomsae category. Hartaj Singh and Anshpreet Singh Toki won consolation prizes in the High Kick Breaking category and Pair Poomsae respectively and gave a commendable performance.
The next event was the Ban ki-Moon Cup First International Taekwondo Championship 2016 in which Hartaj Singh Chahal bagged a gold medal and Anshpreet Singh Toki and Palak Sharma won Bronze medal in the Individual Poomsae category.The little Taek wondo champs made the country as well as the school proud by their commendable efforts.The school appreciates the hard work and efforts put in by Mr.Satya Negi ,the Taekwondo instructor for polishing the skills of the students.
Sehajdeep Singh of class VI participated in State Level UCMAS Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition and was declared as a Runner up. He was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for his commendable performance.
Jaspinder Singh Bhatt of our School was among the eleven players who represented India in the 10th Classic Open International Taekwondo Championship 2016 held at Cheras Badminton Stadium, Pudu, Malaysia. Jaspinder clinched a Bronze Medal and his performance was highly appreciated by one and all.
The School Director, Mrs Lalita Prakash was honoured for her exemplary contribution to the society,in field of education at the International Women's Day 2017 which was held on 11th March 2017 at CII. The event was organized by S4 Trust and Gurukul Vidhyapeeth to honour women who have carved a niche by their valuable contribution to the society. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Santosh Yadav, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Mrs. Asha Jaswal, Mayor , MC, Chandigarh.
Shahreyar Singh Gupta and Harinidtya of our school participated in the ‘Global Association of Japanese Soroban and Mental Arithmetic World Championship’ held at Singapore. Around fourteen countries from across the world participated in the same. Sharheyar and Harinidtya came out with flying colours. Sharheyar Singh Gupta stood first and Harinidtya stood second respectively .
Anchita Dev a student of class VI participated in the painting competition –‘Rangrez’ organized by 94.3 My FM. Anchita’s painting was short listed in the best twelve among sixteen thousand entries in tri-city. The painting is selected for the printing of Annual Calendar of My FM. Anchita was felicitated by the honourable Governor Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore for the same.
Raijas Kaur Grewal of class U.KG. participated in "The 8th Mini National Archery Championship" held at Vishakhapatnam. It was held from 31st January to 5th February 2016. She also participated in the Exhibition Tournament for kids (below 6 years) and received a Gold Medal in the Indian Round.
Hardik was declared as Runners-Up; where as Gayatree was certified for her excellent performance. The children exhibited their creativity and talent hence making their parents and the school proud of their performance.
Our students brought laurels to the school by bagging various positions. Ishmeet Saini, Rudra and Abadhya won two Gold medals each. Anshpreet Toki, Palak Sharma and Hartaj won one gold medal each. Navneet won one gold medal and one silver medal. Ranbeer bagged one bronze medal.
Renowned Indian Tennis player Rohan Bopanna visited Ashiana Public School today and held an interactive session with the students. Rohan Bopanna is among the top ranked doubles players in the world and will be representing India at the Rio Olympics.
Rohan shared his experiences and learning with students. He spoke about the challenges he faced as an athlete and how he overcame them. The students were very interested and had many questions for him. Rohan Bopanna gave a strong message to the students to not only follow a good diet regime, but to also be strong willed to follow their dreams.
Rohan was introduced to Prinkle Singh, Ashiana Public School’s international tennis player. Last but not the least, the students loved the photographs, autographs, selfie sessions with the player.
Ranbir Sandhu of Ashiana Public School was awarded three Gold Medals in ‘Kyorugi and Poomsae Event’ and Jaspinder Singh of Ashiana Public School was awarded with two Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal in ‘Kyorugi and Poomsae Event’ for their excellence in performance. Their efforts and contribution is worthy of appreciation.
On the success of students, the school Director, Mrs. Lalita Prakash, and the Principal Mrs. Monika Sharma gave their blessings to the children for their future endeavors.
The Fifth Tirak International Taekwondo Championship 2015 was organized at Thailand by the Taekwondo Federation of Thailand on 23rd and 24th October 2015.
Twenty countries participated in the event and made it a grand success. The Indian Team comprised of thirty members; of which nine were from Negi Taekwondo Tigers Academy (NTTA), Chandigarh. All the participants went through vigorous training before the event.
Sanya Kansal of Ashiana Public School, Sector 46-A, Chandigarh participated in the City Level as well as the State Level Painting Competition (B.B.M.B.), which was organized by the National Campaign on Energy Conservation. Sanya bought laurels to the school by winning Consolation Prize in the City Level Competition by wining cash prize of Rs.1000/ and Rs.2500/ at State Level respectively. Her talent and creativity were appreciated by one and all present at the occasion.
Ashiana believes in the holistic development of each child. Hence, the school organizes various Olympiads to enhance children’s mental ability and aptitude. Live Olympiad assessment is based on a common, neutral syllabus that allows students from various boards to participate. It mainly includes application-based questions that aim at conceptual understanding and cultivates higher order thinking skills (HOTS) in children. The students participated organized by Green Olympiad Foundation for Math, Science & English and brought laurels to the school.
Medhavi Sarin of Class IV stood All India topper in the live Olympiad and was awarded with scholarship and a Certificate of Excellence in Science and English, Swarit Seth of Class IV was awarded a Certificate of Achievement and a Tablet in Mathematics and English, Certificate of Achievement and a wrist watches were also awarded to Sarthak Moudgil, Anant Goyal, Saksham Malik, Sarabjot Sidhu, Ranveer Pratap Singh, Dhanvin Munjal, Jashanpreet Singh, Ayush Pardesi, Jaskirat Singh Bansal, Armaan Aggarwal, Krishna Gupta and Tamanna Aggarwal .
